AWS Cloud Security Engineer

Job Overview
Our client in the Hollywood area of FL has an excellent opportunity for an AWS Cloud Security Engineer! 
 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Cloud Architect and IT Security and Infrastructure teams to create cloud‐based programs and services that meet security requirements and ensure the protection of client‐provided data, performing threat simulations to detect possible risk areas, and providing security recommendations on a variety of design and application security topics.
  • Support cloud architecture and application design, testing, application security scans, penetration tests, and training content and instruction for cloud application development teams on proper coding methods.
  • Support security incident investigations, and create, recommend, and/or implement innovative technologies, processes, methods, and controls that will enhance and maintain the security, confidentiality, and availability of company’s cloud‐based services and environments.

 

Requirements:

  • Prospective candidates in the field will need at least a Bachelor’s Degree in relevant areas… computer science, programming, and/or information security is essential. Prospective candidates can pursue certification through the (ISC) ² and Cloud Security Alliance. A master’s degree in similar areas is desirable.
  • The successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong technical skills, which may include experience with Linux and Windows operating systems, scripting languages like Python, and cloud provider ecosystems like Amazon AWS.
  • They should have excellent attention to detail, as they must constantly monitor systems to ensure there are no external threats.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills will be essential when interacting with team members.
  • Cloud security engineers must have initiative and serve as a project manager and leader when needed.
  • They should also have ingenuity and strong problem‐solving skills in order to swiftly and creatively deal with threats or flaws in networks.
