Job Overview

Our client in the Princeton area of NJ has an excellent opportunity for a Credit Risk Manager! 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews financial statements, credit reports, and company’s own experience in order to assess the creditworthiness of a buyer and produce an assessment and opinion. Manages a team of 2 to 3 Analysts. He/she liaises with Underwriters in order to maintain coherence between the assessment and the risk exposure.
  • Monitors portfolio of companies with large aggregation of credit risks.
  • Contacts companies through phone interviews and/or field visits to obtain financial and business information to assess their current situation. Gathers and searches for additional information (financial statement data, professional articles, etc.) where required.
  • Produces reports demonstrating that information has been analyzed, questioning can be evidenced, conclusions were drawn and that the recommendation to underwriters is clear and precise
  • Produces and validates assessments according to group delegation rules.
  • Acts on and responds to ratings revision requests and corporate link management requests.
  • Monitors risk and updates assessments upon receiving an alert from external/internal sources.
  • Reviews files for accurate identifiers, links and coherence of assessment to quotation.
  • Handles tasks out of the risk monitoring review workflow in a timely and efficient manner ensuring SLA’s are respected.
  • Monitors sensitive files, sends warnings on specific events/alerts to underwriting.
  • Pro-actively builds and maintains good working relationships with underwriting and information colleagues.
  • Communicates to underwriters and management any adverse information, which is relevant to a review of exposure.
  • Ensures compliance with regulations and procedures as laid down by company and external regulators.

 

Requirements:

  • 7 to 10 years’ experience in risk / financial / credit analysis at a financial services company, banking institution or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years of team management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial analysis and excellent financial rigor including the ability to interpret accounts and make recommendations on those figures.
  • Excellent understanding of banking and funding e.g.: banking products and how funding works.
  • Excellent computer literacy (MS Office / Excel).
  • Excellent investigative skills.
  • Credit or Business research ability.
  • Ability to work on a team and share information.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Finance; MBA preferred.
