Job Overview

Our client in the Summit area of NJ has an excellent opportunity for a Director, Corporate IT! 



  • Create, maintain and update standardized corporate IT practices, policies/procedures. Establish and maintain company-wide security and compliance policies covering corporate IT.   Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems.
  • Own desktop / help desk support, including provisioning and maintaining of desktops and laptops for all employees. This includes supporting corporate headquarters, as well as multiple satellite offices, both in the U.S. and internationally.
  • Manage the system administration team for corporate network infrastructure (firewall, switches, load balancers, etc). Coordinate IT activities to ensure data availability and network services with as little downtime as necessary.
  • Manage and motivate IT staff, ensuring highest customer satisfaction, adoption and proficiency on required technologies.
  • Achieve measurable improvements in the organization’s capabilities and effectiveness to satisfy expanding workloads and demands for services.
  • Analyze and anticipate needs, identify solutions. Lead the cost/benefit analysis of technology evaluations, decisions and road map planning for architecture and technical migration (cloud, on premise, and hybrid infrastructure).
  • Coordinate capital and operational budgeting and forecasting for infrastructure, licensing, vendors, and workforce.
  • Responsible for workplace solutions such as computers, servers, email, workplace software, wireless, etc.
  • Required to plan for growth and align IT activities with stated goals and the strategic plan for the overall corporation.
  • Manage the Database Administration team for corporate Oracle and SQLServer infrastructure (databases, servers, replication, etc).
  • Lead the team providing corporate IT services, including Active Directory, email, system monitoring, backup and recovery, etc.
  • Maintain corporate server infrastructure, including SAN, private server virtualization, and public cloud services.
  • Manage annual IT budget and forecasts for hardware, software and services. Responsible for maintaining vendor contracts and relationships with a focus on ensuring vendors are meeting terms of contract through the review of vendor work. Analyzes contract support and maintenance agreements to ensure contracted services are efficiently deployed, and renewed, as necessary.
  • Assess new opportunities. Analyze and documents requirements utilizing in-depth technical knowledge. Manage team of consultants, which may include programmers, developers, and analysts. Prepare proposals and review estimates, signs off on all business requirements prior to technical solution.
  • Conduct frequent risk assessment – improving the existing business continuity model.
  • Analyze and evaluate corporate IT systems, recommend improvements in systems, infrastructure and architecture to streamline and increase impact while managing costs.
  • Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions. Audit systems and assess their outcomes.



  • Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in IT, Information Systems, or equivalent computer/technology-based degree.
  • At least 10 years’ experience managing employees within an IT environment and working with corporate IT hardware, software, and systems.
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to effectively convey complex information.
  • Strong business process knowledge and application of technology solutions is required.
  • Experienced in managing multi-platform, distributed environments (servers, networks, applications, systems monitoring and management).
  • Entrepreneurial/Innovative leader of business transformation efforts and track record of successful change management.
  • Experience in providing mature and scalable IT services, managing Enterprise Systems and infrastructure.
  • Set the vision and strategy for enabling a highly efficient workforce, including evaluating tools for productivity.
  • Enable business process efficiency by proactively coordinating with other departments to determine opportunities and implement strategies to improve productivity through the utilization of IT systems and services.
  • Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational effectiveness.
  • Work in partnership with management in strategic and business planning.
  • Expertise in data center management and data governance.
  • Maintain the highest level of customer service to both the staff and members.
  • Oversee the implementation, support, business analysis, ongoing development, change management, testing & documentation of the organization’s hardware and software infrastructure.
  • Effectively and proactively collaborates with staff at all levels of the organization to devise and implement solutions for highest operational effectiveness.
  • Maintain and execute the company’s ongoing – and constantly evolving – multi-year technology roadmap.
  • Stays current on technology trends. Identifies technologies that can innovate and transform the Association’s information systems and assists management in developing short and long-range IT plans, goals, objectives, etc. Recommends changes or modifications to various systems and recommends new system enhancements designs and procedures.
