Job Overview

Our client in New York City has an excellent opportunity for an IT Banking Systems Analyst!

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical analysis, design, installation, maintenance and modification of core and ancillary bank systems.
  • Work independently under overall project objectives and requirements; notify supervisor of progress and/or complications. Since input data generally comes from diverse sources, is responsible for recognizing probable conflicts and integrating diverse data elements and sources. Produce innovative solutions for a variety of complex problems.
  • Maintain, modify, and develop interfaces to connect diverse systems using various methods, to improve system integration and automation.
  • Develop end user reports utilizing DMI Prism, Sageworks, SQL, and Jack Henry Cognos. Document user requests and report development through change management process.
  • Manage application software, application infrastructure and third-party application environments. This includes installation, upgrades and patches, tuning, creating links and interfaces between systems, developing application-specific security, performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Perform problem analysis to resolve system or application issues. Perform complex diagnosis of problems, provide solutions within area of responsibility, and/or through consulting with IT department and third-party Information Technology providers; coordinate implementation of fixes and enhancements. Respond to critical issues during off hours when necessary.
  • Design, write, test, implement, and maintain scripts, including tools for testing and delivery of distributed reports. Create and maintain system documentation and end user procedures.
  • Develop project plans, organize, and lead project teams, monitor progress, and evaluate effectiveness.
  • Develop and manage internal procedures, tools, and documents to provide a high level of application integrity and availability and to ensure timely, effective support. Enter and track cases to resolution in internal IT helpdesk software.
  • Coordinate work with systems, database, and network administrators, training, and helpdesk. Support users through technical support of the applications, developing procedures, facilitating, and coordinating training and other technical support. Create an environment that promotes end-user self-sufficiency. Work with data custodians and CISO to maintain and enhance information systems data classification standards.
  • Maintain on-going relationships with vendors. Conduct product evaluations, participate in vendor selection, and develop vendor partnerships.
  • Stay current with technological developments in the fintech sector, systems, and application support, as well as management and user support practices. This includes reading publications, participating in mail lists and on-line communities, attending conferences and workshops, and maintaining relationships with other financial institutions.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related discipline required. Technical experience related to the area of assignment may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Three years of systems analysis experience to include supervision of others or lead responsibilities is required.
  • Knowledge of available system software, hardware and the regulations, structure, techniques and management practices of one or more subject-matter areas; relational database management.
  • Ability to configure systems to be consistent with institutional policies/procedures and State/Federal guidelines; communicate technical and complex information both orally and in writing.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must possess a high degree of integrity and trust along with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Ability to weigh business risks and enforce appropriate information security measures.
  • In-depth knowledge of GLBA and other information technology regulations.
  • Expert knowledge of Office 365, Cognos, Windows Task Scheduler and SQL required.
