LAN Administrator / Applications Support Specialist

Job Overview

Our client in NYC has an excellent opportunity for a LAN Administrator / Applications Support Specialist.

•Evaluate, test and diagnose existing/new computer applications to maximize efficiency/productivity and provide general LAN admin support to users.
•Manage and support administrative functions for various client/server applications and perform PC and application troubleshooting and repairs as necessary for various computing devices utilized by personnel.
•Evaluate user requests for new applications and/or provide improvements to existing programs and applications.
•Develop new applications, customizations, and to provide programming support for various client/server and virtual applications.
•Write complex SQL queries and develop custom reports aimed to improve productivity and reporting automation.
•Must be familiar with Windows security model, AD and group policies, and have a working knowledge of network connectivity and troubleshooting techniques.
•Working knowledge of desktop and server operating systems such as Windows, Linux and Unix. Manage departmental projects as needed and will serve as a liaison between vendors, corporate Information Technology personnel, and business users.

•Must possess excellent technical written and oral communication skills.
•Communicate technical information to supported users using non-technical language.
•Re-image computers, effectively troubleshoot application software, desktops, laptops, and other computing and peripheral hardware utilized within the enterprise.
•Experience in programming/scripting, general computer applications, virtualization, VB, .NET, JAVA, and query tools such as SQL and is also required.
•Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree or five years of technical work experience, and an additional three years of related work experience.
•Three years of IP telephony (VoIP) and project management experience is preferred for the position.
•A valid driver’s license is required.
