NAIC Filing Specialist

Job Overview
Our client in the Bridgewater area of NJ has an excellent opportunity for a NAIC Filing Specialist!   


  • Analyze changes in specifications provided by the NAIC for all schedules of the regulatory filing.
  • Translate the changes into spreadsheet format for the developers to load into Oracle or adjust related applications.
  • Participate in regular team communications with the NAIC as it relates to changes to in the specifications for regulatory filings
  • Work on NAIC Statement Preparation particularly with validations and PDF generation.
  • Explain to Quality Assurance the expected changes and what to look for during testing of our filing software.
  • Advanced Statement/RBC/NY Analysis – consult NAIC Blanks Working Group minutes and proposals; interpret instructions, blanks, electronic filing specifications, validation rules, “NAIC/NY Electronic Filing Submission Directive”, and associated documentation.
  • Create and maintain project related spreadsheets for implementation and verification of NAIC/NY revisions.
  • Evaluate and apply NAIC data for RBC test scenarios.
  • Assist team members with Page/System Development as it relates to the NAIC specifications and blanks.
  • Technical Support/Documentation – provide detailed analysis and source citations for help desk incidents and follow up with end users create
  • Assist team members in creating “how to” procedures for customer guidance as related to the NAIC/NY supplement specifications.



  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline is a plus.
  • A strong background in technical analysis, project planning, customer support, and supervision in a team setting is required. 3 plus years’ experience analyzing insurance industry data as it relates to NAIC filing submissions.
  • 3 plus years’ experience working with the NAIC specifications for submitting insurance company data.
  • Hands on experience with NAIC statement preparation and validations.
  • Familiarity with the filing submission process and validations prior to submission.
  • Active knowledge of insurance company data and how it relates to the regulatory filing submission.
  • Ability to work with Excel Spreadsheets using power user level features, such as inter sheet cell references and formulas.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work well independently or as part of a team.
  • Must have an understanding of NAIC/NY documentation and business practices.
  • Must have the ability to analyze complex calculations and articulate them in a team setting.
  • Must have an organized and detailed approach to managing large amounts of data.
  • Should have the ability to work effectively with end users for troubleshooting and problem resolution.
