Point-of-Sale MIS (IT) Analyst

Job Overview

Our client in New York City has an excellent opportunity for a Point-of-Sale MIS (IT) Analyst!

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Create current flow diagrams based on business processes.
  • Document business requirements discussed with end users.
  • Write technical specifications for development team.
  • Test and validate development based on written test case scenarios.
  • Create user friendly documentation/manuals.
  • Train key users on modified or new business processes.
  • Field incoming help requests from end users via both telephone and e-mail in a courteous manner; first level of user support.
  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners and end users to resolve business systems issues.
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems.
  • Provide orientation and training to new employees for business systems.

 

Requirements:

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, information science, management information systems, or business administration and three to five years related work experience.
  • Skills at designing process flows and diagrams.
  • Working technical knowledge of Microsoft Visio.
  • Basic ERP understanding – knowledge of Navision is a plus.
  • Basic Retail Point-of-Sale understanding.
  • Basic understanding of finance and manufacturing terminology with demonstrated understanding of business process flows.
  • Have exceptional problem solving skills and ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
