Sr. Network Administrator

Job Overview
Our client in the Summit area of NJ has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Network Administrator! 
 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, deploy, maintain and support the company’s enterprise server and security infrastructure including but not limited to AD, GPO, DNS, SSO, Virtual Servers, Citrix, DFS, Storage Arrays / Fiber Channel, O365 environment, Telephony, Azure, Backups and Disaster Recovery.
  • Provide support assistance for the company’s 7x24x365 mission critical infrastructure systems; including on-call, change window, and unplanned emergency response.
  • Analyze problems, access systems health/life cycle, monitor performance, recommend solutions, products, and technologies to meet business objectives & requirements.
  • Actively protect information technology assets and infrastructure from external or internal threats and ensure compliance with policies and procedures including regulatory requirements regarding information access, security and privacy.
  • Ensure that systems adhere to a regular maintenance schedule, are patched, and maintained at an appropriate application service level.
  • Manage new project initiatives with full lifecycle (design, testing, implementation, and support) focusing on the technical implementation, support requirements, and most importantly seamless end user experience.
  • Assist the end-user, other IT professionals, and external customers in server and security support requests.
  • Recommend server and configuration best practices to achieve stated business objectives, advise on risk assumptions for any deviations from standards, and provide alternatives to achieve desired end results.
  • Assist in incident response for any breaches, intrusions, or theft.
  • Evaluate and perform planning, testing, and implementation of software and hardware upgrades.
  • Prioritize and manage both project and daily workflow responsibilities.
  • Maintain system documentation and configuration data for operating, regulatory, and audit purposes.
  • Adhere to proper process and change management requirements.
  • Collaboratively work with a global IT team and partner with external vendors for support of both internal, external, cloud, and hosted systems.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience required.
  • 7 + years’ of related experience required.
  • Field related certifications preferred, e.g. Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, Citrix, Security, Cloud.
  • Significant experience designing and implementing Windows Server Operating Systems, routed/switched Networks, Virtualization technologies, SAN storage technologies and Cloud technologies.
  • Experience designing and implementing on-prem and cloud-based Windows / Azure Active Directory, NTFS Setup and Security, User Administration, TCP/IP with DHCP, WINS, DNS, and IIS.
  • Significant experience with Azure and Office 365 administration, health, maintenance, licensing, and deployment.
  • SSO, AD, and Cloud application integration, support, and maintenance.
  • Extensive experience in virtualized technology platforms including VMWare, Hyper-V, and Citrix.
  • Experience with Cisco UCS and converged infrastructure configuration and maintenance.
  • Experience with databases, general networking, storage array configuration and connectivity, and patch management.
  • Experience following ITIL best practice methodologies. Experience using operations metrics and trend analysis.
  • Experience preferred in the following: Microsoft SQL server, automated patch management tools such as SCCM, SharePoint, Linux, Solarwinds, SD-WAN.
  • Business continuity planning, data backup & disaster recovery, testing and validation; on premise and in the cloud.
