Job Overview

Our client in the Dallas area of TX has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) Technical Support Engineer!

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide technical expertise and resolution for Schneider, Vertiv, Eaton, Mitsubishi, and Toshiba UPS systems.
  • Provide technical support to field service technician/engineers and customers during break downs and repairs to resolve the issues.
  • Document tech support calls and parts research.
  • Provide on-site Technical Assistance as and when required.
  • Create method of operating procedures (MOP) for major repairs.
  • Lead in customer meetings and teleconferences as required.
  • Lead root cause investigations for critical sites.
  • Back-up other tech support engineers as escalation point-of-contact as requested.
  • On call for afterhours support.
  • Develop service tips and parts replacement bulletin.
  • Participate in MTTR (mean time to repair) and MTBF (mean time between failures) meetings.
  • Participate in tools and test equipment evaluation program.
  • Participate in training development with the training manager.
  • Attend new product and self-development training classes.
  • Maintain familiarity with new products that may affect unit operation.

 

Requirements:

  • 6 – 10 years of experience from UPS industry
  • Minimum 4 years in technical support or equivalent experience, including two years’ field service experience.
  • Fundamental background/experience in Microsoft applications.
  • Technical knowledge of the company’s power products and services required.
  • Ability to read schematics.
  • Ability to test and analyze circuits and components.
  • Ability to use oscilloscopes, meggers, and other test equipment.
  • Ability to lift UPS parts and assemblies.
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Technical expertise in critical power systems operation and maintenance.
  • Proficient in customer relations management practices.
  • Functional knowledge of small enterprise accounting practices.
  • Proficient in organizational file management.
  • Expert-level technical writing and editing preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
