Job Overview

Our client has an excellent opportunity for a Visual Studio Sr. Programmer Analyst!

 

Responsibilities:

  • Analysis, design, development, and maintenance of critical business reports created using XSLT style sheets and XML data sets maintained in PL/SQL modules, tables, and views in an Oracle database environment. Additionally, responsible for documenting, testing, and supporting the Test / Production environments and overall user base.
  • Analyze, design, develop, test and support business critical solutions using Visual Studio and/or similar programming languages, Oracle design and development processes, XML/XSLT or equivalent supporting data structures and system level implementation methods and practices.
  • Adhere to established coding standards and adapt to the software development methodologies.
  • Participate in process transformation efforts to better engage business users and provide more control and ownership over the non-technical components for report creation and content. Data extraction in a data warehousing environment is also expected.
  • Work with business, developers and project leads to ensure software design meets business and technical requirements.
  • Pursue solutions that reduce complexity, improve performance, and achieve business objectives.
  • Research and learn new software and technologies. Provide management with recommendations as needed.
  • Provide peer reviews, guidance, documentation, and training as needed.
  • Troubleshoot code, data, and technical problems. Provide performance tuning and testing and the ability to implement technical features effectively.
  • Communicate with business team, end users and senior management concerning technical problems and system enhancements; provide training, support and demos as needed.
  • Support a Windows Service (C#) that provides XSL-FO processor integration using a 3rd party tool.
  • Define and manage project schedules and status in Workfront.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent related technical field experience
  • 6+ years’ experience working as a Visual Studio or similar discipline developer.
  • 6+ years’ experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases
  • Working knowledge of XML, XSLT, or other similar tagged data constructs.
  • Experience with architectures such as SOA, WCF and others are a plus.
  • Experience with 3rd party tools which includes but is not limited to supporting DLLs, AWS, Apache, Ecrion, etc. is a plus.
  • Experience with data warehousing a plus.
