Job Overview Our client in the Bedminster area of NJ has an excellent HYBRID opportunity for a Senior Data Architect! Responsibilities: Architecture, design, and development of existing and future data initiatives. Create architectural road map and oversee efforts to build the next generation data lake and data warehouse on Azure. Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models. Create end-to-end architecture for data distribution and consumption in a hybrid (on-premises + Azure) environment. Design high performance transactional (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) systems leveraging SQL and NoSQL databases. Build data stores for caching and search. Create and maintain data architecture diagrams, data dictionary, and metadata. Collaborate and work closely with application, compliance, infrastructure, product and security teams to understand functional and non-functional data requirements. Architect and implement master data management (MDM). Collaborate with other teams to establish enterprise-wide data governance. Build minimum viable products (MvPs) and proof-of-concepts (PoCs) to determine viability of data solutions and drive adoption of new technologies. Optimize and performance tune databases and queries. Establish and implement best practices and standards in data architecture, database design, data security and data quality. Design and implement framework for automated data testing. Participate in code reviews and train other team members. Requirements: 8 to 10 years of experience working as a Data Architect, Solution Architect, Database Developer or similar roles. 10 years of experience creating high performance data architectures for OLTP and OLAP systems. 10 years of experience with building data lakes, data warehouses and operational data stores from ground up. 10 years of experience working with any of the data warehouse methodologies: Kimball – star-schema, Data Vault, Inmon. 10 years of experience working with relational databases: Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL or similar. 10 years designing and developing ETL and ELT data pipelines using Informatica, DataStage, Talend, SSIS, Matillion, dbt, Fivetran, Azure data factory, Apache Airflow, Luigi, Oracle Data Integrator or similar. 7 years of experience working with NoSQL databases preferably MongoDB or similar. 7 years of experience working with columnar databases: Snowflake, Synapse, Redshift, Greenplum, Vertica or similar. 7 years of experience working with caching databases: Memcache, Redis or similar. 7 years of experience working with search databases and platforms: Elasticsearch, Apache Solr or similar. 7 years of experience working with a data modeling tool: ERWin, ERStudio, Navicat, SqlDBM or similar. 5 years of experience creating databases with data in excess of 5TB for financial and / or ratings domain. 5 years of experience working in Azure or AWS. 5 years creating data catalogs and data dictionary. 5 years of experience in master data management (MDM): Informatica, TIBCO, Riversand, Ataccama or similar.
