Job Overview Our client in NYC has an excellent opportunity for a Sr. Network Engineer in a HYBRID ROLE (3 days in the office / 2 days remote)! Responsibilities: Manage a large IP network supporting a 24/7 operation. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure business priorities of the company and contributes to strategy development of operational efficiencies. Manage technical staff and contractors responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting all facets of network technologies including LAN and WAN networking, Cisco Wireless, Cisco UCS and Nutanix datacenters, and departmental VLANs. Provide guidance and conducts configuration, solution and quality reviews. Conduct monthly solution and quality reviews to ensures reliability conformance with operating standards and procedures with timely resolution of issues and network life cycle upgrade. Respond to and/or coordinate response to network-related inquiries from internal IT groups and cross-organizational teams including vendors and contractors. Anticipate and take ownership to follow-up, investigate, address and timely solve network performance issues. Monitor network performance statistics against established performance metrics, capacity management guidelines and effectively use related tools. Review vulnerability alerts and notifications received from vendors to assess the impact on the company network and coordinate/implement risk mitigation actions. Author and document network diagrams and implementation plans, policies and procedures, and other procedures for use to manage and monitor the data and voice networks. Manage small to medium-size projects including project resources, scope and budgeting (cost management), scheduling to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget. Embrace and promote a customer service-oriented mindset by consistently demonstrating professionalism, concern, courtesy, and process excellence in all activities. Perform other related tasks and assignments as required. Requirements: Design, configure, and implement infrastructure solutions using IP. Deep technical and operational experience with communication protocols, performance standards and strong familiarity of cyber security principles. Strong understanding of cyber security principles. Advanced knowledge and experience using Cisco IOS based routers, switches, and datacenter NX-OS based switches. Work with BGP and IGP routing protocols (EIGRP and OSPF), primarily in a Cisco environment. Troubleshoot complex system issues, outages, or performance issues and conducting root cause analysis. Network monitoring, management, and packet analysis tools. Understand network architecture concepts and lead practices to ensure high reliability and implement maintainable, reusable, scalable and extensible networks. Develop medium to long-term risk-prioritized project plans and related cost forecasts Moderate to advanced experience using Microsoft Office 365. Flexible and able to work off-hours as required to support deployments, investigate and resolve production issues, and respond to corporate emergencies.
